I am a pediatric speech, language, and feeding therapist. I work with children who have challenges with their communication, articulation or eating.
I have always loved working with and helping others. What I did not know in the early days of my career was how much joy I would receive from working closely with children and their families!
When I started graduate school, I was planning to work with adults. When I moved to New York, I started working in a hospital with both children and adults. During that experience, my focused shifted as I realized how much I loved working with children, and watching them grow, shift and learn. My experience working in schools, in people’s homes and in early intervention led me to create a private practice that is nurturing to both children and their families.
My mission in my private practice is to help children be the best they can be.
Each child learns differently and has his or her own unique set of strengths. When families come to me, I build on those strengths to help children work through their speech, language and feeding challenges.
My services help alleviate the frustration that happens when feeding and communicating are impacted. When this frustration is lessened, families are able get back to doing what they love to do and spend more quality time together.
My work centers around three fundamental questions:
What can we do to help your child have an easier time?
What can we do to help your child learn more quickly?
What’s important to you as a parent?
The answers to these questions help me develop individualized programs which address each child’s need of learning how to speak, communicate, and eat effectively. I believe in working closely with parents–and my therapy practice is a true team effort.
As a devoted mother and wife, I lead a balanced life, and encourage others to do the same–both professionally and personally. When I’m not working with parents and their children, I love spending time with my own family. I have two beautiful daughters, a wonderful husband and an adorable Cockapoo named Casey. I love the outdoors, keeping active, traveling, cooking, and entertaining friends.
